Day 35
8:55pm
We're in Salvador de Bahia
We docked at 2pm. And I had to be back to host tea at 4
But I went off for a couple of hours and it was nice
I went to the old city
You have to take an elevator to access it
Had a fresh green coconut.
Took some pics
Got back.
Had rehearsal for tonight's show.
We're doing the Latin one on the pool deck tonight
Almost finished choreographing the Christmas duet
I'm happy with it...
I'm standing in the middle of the corridor but I need to get back to my cabin and start getting ready... Make-up, wig...
Day 36
3:12pm
A kiss from the beach in Salvador de Bahia!
I went inside subway to get water, shade and wifi
They treated us with margaritas and piña coladas while decorating the theater last night.
Which got me excited while we were decorating but also made me fall asleep pretty fast.
(That was only the second time I drank alcohol since I got on the ship.)
Day 39
8:45pm
Hey! At a Brazilian steakhouse. Hadn't had that much meat in years!
Actually hadn't had THAT MUCH meat EVER! Lol
I must have eaten the equivalent of 3 steaks!
Papaya creamy sorbet with cassis liquor
Note the strawberry caipirinhas
This is also the most alcohol I've had in months
You look happy lol
Slash intoxicated
Heading out. Talk later!
1:23am
Hey! Back onboard and more sober...
Lies
Lol
No seriously
With all the meat I had... It was enough to spounge the caipirinhas.
It was a really fun day tho!
Found a Starbucks. Took a cable car to sugar hill loaf, and got a cool view over the city and Christ the redeemer or whatever that Corcovado statue is called.
Got to shop for my favorite brand of shoes which is Brazilian. So, cheap here, while expensive everywhere else in the world. It was like the only thing I knew I'd want to buy the whole cruise!
And then that insane protein meal!!!!
How many pairs did you get?
Funny fact about the shoes: I was gonna go by myself this morning so I could go "sightseeing" with Ryan, one of the singers, afterwards. But I ended up spending my morning at Starbucks. However when he showed up, one of the first things he said was, "there's this Brazilian shoe brand that I'd like to find so I get my girlfriend a pair".
So I even had a shopping buddy! And I had researched the locations so I had all the info!
I got 3 pairs, he got 4!
Lol
I wanted to spare the poor guy having to wait for me at a store but it turned out he wanted to go even more badly that I did LOL
When I got back onboard and everybody saw my new shoes they all wanted to know where the store was!
The brand is Melissa. They're all plastic designer shoes. Pumps, flats etc.
The most comfy, convenient and durable shoes I've ever owned.
Sometimes they "partner" with fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood, etc.
Anyway. Tomorrow I don't work until 9pm
So if it's nice I'll try to go to the beach and/or go see the Corcovado.
And if not I'll just spend the day at Starbucks LOL
Have you been able to see a lot?
Not so much super specific sites but mostly getting "immersed" into the different cities...
Oh and the beach we all went to in Buzios yesterday was pretty cool
Local?
Most people were locals
My pics don't do it justice at all
But it gives an idea
The sun came out for a tiny bit at some point but it was quite overcast
We'll see what tomorrow is like.
You understand why I looked "happy"?!
I mean it wasn't just the caipirinhas and the full belly.
Ok... hold on I need to show you the shoes...
Then you'll really understand
Hm. They're shoes alright...
Just they're as comfy as slippers
And all plastic so you can wear them in the rain and not fear to ruin them
It's ok. You don't have to understand the excitement. It's probably more of a girl thing.
I'm a man. Now if we talk sneakers that's different
I don't think I'm that girly of a girl.. until it comes to shoes. Lol
And I hear you, I used to get more excited about sneakers than I would over a pair of heels!
... Until I tried a pair of Melissa's at the Soho store...
