MS MARINA
DAY 2
Venice, Italy
8:04pm
Hey! How are you?
A bit overwhelmed but OK. We have a show tomorrow and just did a run with costumes.
Gotta head to dinner before tonight’s show.
DAY 4
Corfu, Greece
11:27pm
Hey! Sorry, I had troubles connecting to the Internet after the show last night.
And I fell asleep before I was able to log on.
Still crazy busy and tired!
In addition to learning our shows, we have to learn our primary job onboard.
No, it's not dancing. It's safety. Those cruise companies take it very seriously that in the unlikely event of an emergency, all personnel know the right procedures to evacuate the boat and survive at sea.
Those trainings come at the worse time of the day though. In the middle of our afternoon rehearsal. So, after dancing full out for hours, we suddenly have to stop, sit behind a desk and listen to the broken English of the Bulgarian officer that's in charge of our safety trainings. I have a very hard time understanding what he says and sometimes wonder what language he really speaks. I never make it past 25 minutes without passing out. I feel terrible.
DAY 6
Capri, Italy
12:39pm
We just had a tour of the ship
Walked around for like 2 hours.
But got to see a few places I had never seen
Like what did you see? Where they keep the kids who shovel the coal into the engines? The mermaid tank? What?
Mostly the guest areas. So that we know what/who we're dealing with
But we also went up to the bridge
Which is the captain and officers' quarters.
I know that!
Dammit, I've watched Star trek half my life
Sorry, I never watched Star Trek! (You can unfriend me now! Lol)
The view is pretty darn cool from there though...
10:46 PM
Hey
Oh hey! I'm in bed already. Keep falling asleep whereas I’m trying to review from DVDs
11:45 PM
Apparently I have a safety test tomorrow :-s
I was barely ever awake during those trainings. I hope it's mostly common sense.
