Balinese dance

Hi everyone! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you ended 2014 in a firework of joy and art and that 2015 has brought you exciting new perspectives of work, creativity and love.

I just returned from a trip to Bali, and surely ate (well!), prayed (for more peace in the world), and loved it (Bali, its beaches, its sun, but especially its rich culture that is E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E!)

I was particularly impressed that pretty much every house there is a temple. Literally! You don't even have to go out of your way so much to sightsee as everything there is something!

Religion (90% of the population being of Balinese Hinduism faith which mixes aspects of Buddhism, Hinduism and animism, the belief that souls and spirits can be found in all things) is a large part of the Balinese culture and defines the lives of most Balinese people.

It is also at the origin of... DANCE!

Indeed, the very essence of the Balinese culture is dance and drama, which is performed during temple festivals and in ceremonies.

In Bali, dance cannot be separated from religion. Even the small sample of dances that are shown in hotels and restaurants for the tourists are preceded by many dancers praying at their family shrine for taksu (inspiration) from the gods.

Dance there fulfills a number of specific functions: It may be a channel for visiting gods or demons, the dancers acting as a sort of living repository. It may be a welcome for visiting gods. It may be entertainment for visiting gods.

Traditional Balinese dance is rooted in storytelling and based on specific stories and myths from the great Hindu epic The RamayanaThe Barong Dance (showing the effect of the Gods intervention upon the people through supernatural powers. Barong being a lion-like creature and character in the Balinese mythology. He is the King of the Spirits, leader of the hosts of good), The Warrior Dance (depicts the courage of a hero who is going out to war)...

Movement-wise, one of the main characteristic of Balinese dance is probably the use of isolations technique. Particular attention is given to such details as the movements of the eyes, head or fingers positions.

The gestures are codified and symbolic, they're called mudras. While some of them involve the entire body, most are performed with the hands and fingers. My yogis out there have probably heard that word before as in yoga, mudras are used in conjunction with pranayama (yogic breathing exercises), to stimulate different parts of the body involved with breathing and to affect the flow of energy (prana).

The typical posture of Balinese dance has the legs slightly bent, the torso shifting in the opposite direction of the arms, while the elbow raise and lower with suppleness in the hands and fingers.

As to the soundtrack to this mesmerizing movement, it is no less fascinating.

The original purpose of music here again is to serve religious beliefs, accompanying storytelling in the form of dances or wayang theaters (shadow-puppets).

If the traditional Balinese orchestra, called the gamelan, counts a number of string and woodwind instruments, it is mostly composed of various forms of xylophones, gongs and percussions.

Little known fact : The music of Bali has inspired well known composers from all around the world. Bela Bartok titled his No.109 piece "From the island of Bali." It is also said that Debussy, after having met a Balinese musician and seen a Balinese orchestra performed in Europe, was so impressed and affected that some of his later works contain distinct colors of Balinese music.

De-sert

Last month, I took advantage from visiting LA where I spent a little time boosting myself, training, taking classes with some of the best dancers and choreographers to also go to Las Vegas. One of my friends was performing in the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson "One" show, and I wanted to make sure I'd see it before his contract was over. But I needed an "excuse" to take a few days off to go chill in the desert and not feel guilty about it. That's when the idea of shooting in the desert came to my mind.
I wanted to take dance pictures in the desert. I contacted my friend Justin, a Julliard alumnus who after dancing in NY, Ohio and Israel, had recently relocated to Vegas to dance with a modern company and thankfully liked the idea of taking a pretty picture or two with me.
But soon, my inveterate delusion of grandeur turned my initial photo shoot idea into the urge of shooting video as well. However, as "motionated" as I am, there was no way on earth I would have just shot random movement with no intention behind it. But why in the world would you just start dancing in the middle of the desert?! Well it didn't take me long to find a metaphor for the actual desert that could motivate the dancing and here is what I visualized in my little Hollywood room.
This adventure taught me a lot for the next projects I have. What to plan, what to avoid. And I have to say that once again, I found out I really was surrounded by amazing human beings that helped make it happen because it definitely wasn't as obvious and easy as I thought it would be. This reminded me how much work is important and things don't just happen, served to you on a plate, you have to earn them.
But for now, follow me in the desert.

Here is a little something I recently dreamed about and I was lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing friends that made it happen. Thank you so much Justin Daniel for choreographing with me, Bobby Rivera for being an incredible human being and artistic director, and Brianna Noel, Edward Skissorhands, and Derek Degner for helping me get to the desert.

DAY 40

5:34pm

Hi from Starbucks Rio (near Copacabana)

    What's Starbucks like in Rio

kind of like in Miami
listening to Xmas musics
but wearing shorts

lol

    ew

I'm hesitating to just go to the beach after I'm done here

my friends from the cast who all were working earlier haven't gotten back to me

so i think i'm gonna play solo today

    Why are you hesitating

cause i have my computer with me

and rio is reputated to be a place were you shouldn't even keep your iPhone out

lol

i mean, i should be fine

And your plan is to play solo?
   Not smart
   Don't risk it
   Not worth it come on
   I don't know. Be mindful

i walked around the city all day yesterday with one of the singers...
i got a chance to "take the temperature"

seriously, it didn't feel scary or anything

and i walked around all morning by myself

i was fine

i'll see what it feels like when i leave starbucks

if i don't feel it, i'll hop on a cab and go back to the ship, see if i can find company

   Alright
   Just be careful
Doesn't make sense to push it

i won't push my luck

i've been around the world enough to know what crowds are like

i ‘m having my third "pao con queijo" here. Those are good!

it’s funny, i'm speaking portuguese with the people at starbucks

well bullshitting a lot, mixing italian into spanish

people understand me and i get what they say more than i expected

well, enough to get food, directions and to be polite

    Oh wow. Nice hats

Our Brazilian costumes
They're appropriate right now
Ok gonna head out of Starbucks

I'm having a winter wonderland indigestion lol

(Kidding)

Talk soon!

7:55pm

Had a little walk on copacabana beach then went to meet up with my 2 friends that were at another Starbucks

And now at the steakhouse again

    Were you safe alone?

Yeah

Lots of people. Families etc

At the steakhouse, they give you those little cards

You turn it one side or the other to let them know to keep bringing meat or not

Day 41

3:40pm

Always wondered what would happen if people didn’t make it back to the ship on time....

Well, some guests got stuck at the Corcovado...  like over a hundred people

So we’re sailing away an hour later....

      So it was Jesus's fault
      Typical

Ok gonna log off for a bit. Maybe go up to the upper deck and sunbathe for a bit.

    Lol. Looking the tan huh?

Yup. On a mission
My skin's been resting for almost 48 hours. Time to  do some maintenance work...

AND THAT'S HOW SARAH NEVER CAME BACK FROM HER MISSION!!!

Kidding! She did! But she also got a phone card the day after that. She got lazy. Messages in a bottle, carrier pigeons, emails and even facebook got neglected and we lost trace of all overseas correspondance.
After another month sailing around South America and French Polynesia, she got back to Paris with thousands of pictures from around the world
in her iphone and will share a few more in the next commotion post!

Day 35

8:55pm

We're in Salvador de Bahia

We docked at 2pm. And I had to be back to host tea at 4

But I went off for a couple of hours and it was nice

I went to the old city

You have to take an elevator to access it

Had a fresh green coconut.

Took some pics

Got back.

Had rehearsal for tonight's show.

We're doing the Latin one on the pool deck tonight

Almost finished choreographing the Christmas duet

I'm happy with it...

I'm standing in the middle of the corridor but I need to get back to my cabin and start getting ready... Make-up, wig...

Day 36
3:12pm

A kiss from the beach in Salvador de Bahia!

I went inside subway to get water, shade and wifi

They  treated us with margaritas and piña coladas while decorating the theater last night.

Which got me excited while we were decorating but also made me fall asleep pretty fast.

(That was only the second time I drank alcohol since I got on the ship.)

Day 39

8:45pm

Hey! At a Brazilian steakhouse. Hadn't had that much meat in years!

Actually hadn't had THAT MUCH meat EVER! Lol

I must have eaten the equivalent of 3 steaks!

Papaya creamy sorbet with cassis liquor

IMG_0863.jpg

Note the strawberry caipirinhas

This is also the most alcohol I've had in months

    You look happy lol

Slash intoxicated

Heading out. Talk later!

1:23am

Hey! Back onboard and more sober...

    Lies

Lol
No seriously
With all the meat I had... It was enough to spounge the caipirinhas.
It was a really fun day tho!
Found a Starbucks. Took a cable car to sugar hill loaf, and got a cool view over the city and Christ the redeemer or whatever that Corcovado statue is called.
Got to shop for my favorite brand of shoes which is Brazilian. So, cheap here, while expensive everywhere else in the world. It was like the only thing I knew I'd want to buy the whole cruise!
And then that insane protein meal!!!!

How many pairs did you get?

Funny fact about the shoes: I was gonna go by myself this morning so I could go "sightseeing" with Ryan, one of the singers, afterwards. But I ended up spending my morning at Starbucks. However when he showed up, one of the first things he said was, "there's this Brazilian shoe brand that I'd like to find so I get my girlfriend a pair".

So I even had a shopping buddy! And I had researched the locations so I had all the info!

I got 3 pairs, he got 4!

Lol

I wanted to spare the poor guy having to wait for me at a store but it turned out he wanted to go even more badly that I did LOL

When I got back onboard and everybody saw my new shoes they all wanted to know where the store was!

The brand is Melissa. They're all plastic designer shoes. Pumps, flats etc.

The most comfy, convenient and durable shoes I've ever owned.

Sometimes they "partner" with fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood, etc.

Anyway. Tomorrow I don't work until 9pm

So if it's nice I'll try to go to the beach and/or go see the Corcovado.

And if not I'll just spend the day at Starbucks LOL

Have you been able to see a lot?

Not so much super specific sites but mostly getting "immersed" into the different cities...

Oh and the beach we all went to in Buzios yesterday was pretty cool

    Local?

Most people were locals

My pics don't do it justice at all

But it gives an idea

The sun came out for a tiny bit at some point but it was quite overcast

We'll see what tomorrow is like.

You understand why I looked "happy"?!

I mean it wasn't just the caipirinhas and the full belly.

Ok... hold on I need to show you the shoes...

Then you'll really understand

    Hm. They're shoes alright...

Just they're as comfy as slippers

And all plastic so you can wear them in the rain and not fear to ruin them

It's ok. You don't have to understand the excitement. It's probably more of a girl thing.

I'm a man.  Now if we talk sneakers that's different

I don't think I'm that girly of a girl.. until it comes to shoes. Lol

And I hear you, I used to get more excited about sneakers than I would over a pair of heels!

... Until I tried a pair of Melissa's at the Soho store...

DAY 23

Barcelona, Spain

10:56am

So we got our schedule for the week. It's looks pretty sweet. I'm working most of the day tomorrow. Sports from 8:30am : Golf, ping pong, croquet, shuffleboard... Until 3:30pm

We have to be back onboard at 5pm. So I probably won't get to do much outside.
But that's my only sports duties day for that whole cruise!
I'll be hosting 2 afternoon teas. So will have to be back onboard a little before 4pm twice
And then I'm either free or only work at night
Which is once we've sailed...

Soooooo... I just signed up to escort a bunch of tours in brazil and Argentina!

I'll have to get final confirmation, but it should work out for most of them...

I'm super excited. Haha!

Tours of cities such as Salvador de Bahia or Rio, and I won't have to pay for a cab to drive me around...

They are organized excursions that the guests can sign up for

(Well, buy... for an average 150$ each)

And I signed up to go with them, for free, as an escort, so that they have a familiar face from the boat escorting and not just a tour guide they've never seen.

Well, technically I'll be on duty if I do that. Just have to pray for those tourists to be relaxed by then and not give me crap hahaha Cause if one decides to complain I'm the face of the company then.

It should be fine tho. And if someone bothers me I'll kick them off the bus, trolley or tender... ;)

DAY 31

Mindelo, Cape Verde

1:25pm

I just came out an entertainment staff meeting. Tomorrow we have a celebration for crossing the Equator. It's like a sort of initiation. There's gonna be King Neptune (the ship’s doctor) as a Master of Ceremonies.

We (dancers) are gonna be sirens in the jacuzzi

And apparently the ones that never crossed the equator are gonna have to kiss a big fish.

That's all I know. Lol

Looks like it's gonna be another crazy one... (Oh I don't think I mentioned, we had a country fair yesterday morning on the pool deck. And I was running baggo/ beanbag toss, another American "tradition"/game I didn't know).

Anyway. I'll let you know how it goes and what happens.

11:52pm

    Yea
    Hold on a second
    Kiss a big fish?
    What the hell

I know lol
It's a sailor initiation/tradition

I'll take a picture, I guess.

I don't know what kind of fish
Lol
    I imagine it's a person

Nooo
A real fish
The galley (kitchens) cleaned it today
    ._.

Not a person... I'm gonna kiss a fishy fish.

I'm guessing your going to wish it was a person

;)

Ooooh

I can't watch because YouTube is blocked here to save bandwidth. But I understand the title

I can only imagine what this sounds like!!! lol

I really like that singer. Really old school Spanish. Reminds of Puerto Rico every time I hear it

DAY 32

Hey there!
So i have little pictures from yesterday cause I wasn't the one taking them. I didn't take my camera given i was going to be in a pool.

But here is what I have.

We kissed a salmon. Got "baptized" with green iced water (mint syrup).

It was fun. Very theatrical. People enjoyed it.

I had a bunch of other duties the rest of the day. But I have little duties today.

I did "doors" to a lecture about baseball. Then a fashion show for the jewelry boutique. Was wearing about 80 000$ of diamonds, including a necklace Eva Longoria supposedly wore at some award show.

Very hard life. Now I'm free til greetings for a loyal customers private function. So I'm on the upper deck sunbathing.

Every once in a while a big cloud comes and blocks the sun but it's quite windy so it never lasts much.

So hopefully I'll have a nice hale by the end of the day. :)

PALMA DE MALLORCA (BALEARIC ISLANDS), SPAIN
DAY 15
4:52 PM

Back on the ship. We were in Palma de Mallorca, today.
That was nice...

Getting ready for the captain's party.

Then I'm hosting trivia with one of the singers later...

DAY 16
1:34 PM

Sea day today. I hosted ping Pong and golf. And now I'm off until rehearsal tonight.

8:37 PM

Rehearsal done. Now 2-hour break. Then show at 10:45.

And afterward, pizza party at the crew bar...

Typical day at sea.

It was pouring this morning when I got up. We thought we'd have to cancel all the sport activities. But it cleared out around 10:30am. Then sunshine...

DAY 17
TRAPANI, ITALY
1:16 PM

In a small "dumpy" town of Sicily today. We went off already but there's not much to do or see there.

It's quite windy. Tonight is probably gonna be pretty rocky.

DAY 21
MARSEILLE, FRANCE
8:10 PM

We're headed to Barcelona.

I'm working for embarkation tomorrow morning til half past 12 then I have a good 4 hours free before we have to be back onboard.

I can explore Barcelona at last!
I'm excited!

We had a meeting with the cruise director earlier to discuss the upcoming cruise which includes a lot of exciting things : crossing the Atlantic, crossing the Equator, Thanksgiving/Hanukkah...

We are gonna start decorating the ship for the holidays. We're putting together a Christmas show for which I'm gonna choreograph a lyrical/contemporary duet.

VALENCIA
DAY 14
5:26 PM

We made it to downtown Valencia. I was the official interpreter for our group.

The taxi driver showed us around a bit.

And I was even able to ask directions to a Starbucks. Sounds lame but my frappuccino made my day!!! Lol

We made it back in time to host tea time. I'm gonna go warm up for rehearsal. Then tech rehearsal. And show tonight.

11:21 PM

Going downtown was the most "fun" I had in a couple of weeks and we didn't even do anything special just walked in the city for an hour...

It was just nice to be able to get out.

Plus Valencia is nice

Let me show you some pics.

So Valencia has this huge complex that has a sport venue, the opera house, the science museum, a 3D movie theater, a botanical garden etc

That's one of those... (The opera I think)

And it was sunny and warm (75 degrees)

Tea time was fine. Greeting people with my biggest smile for like 45min and showing them the way to the lounge ...
I don't mind doing that.

My Spanish impressed everybody today. I started saying I didn't really speak Spanish.
But ended up being the one speaking to the taxi drivers, giving directions etc
Translating to the rest of the group what the guy was saying when he was showing us around...
I actually impressed myself.

The goal is to be even more comfortable by the time I get to South America

I'm gonna study a bit on my own and then I'll try and speak with some of the crew as there are a lot of guys from Honduras onboard

MS MARINA
Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
DAY 7
11:12pm

One more show down! We have one left in 2 days. And another to rehearse, but we're not performing it this cruise. And then perfect the other ones...

Phew!

Barcelona, Spain
DAY 12
10:32pm

We're in Barcelona, but haven't got off the ship in a few days due to the load of work.

Tomorrow is embarkation day. Saying goodbye to guests that are going home and/or greeting the new ones.

We still have a hard core rehearsal schedule since we were doing install and adding up some duties and the trainings...

We're almost done with the trainings, we know the shows (just have to make sure we remember them well... Some of it is still kinda fresh)

10:46 PM

Got my schedule. Busy from 10:45am to after my show around 11pm. Quite ridiculous.

DAY 13
4:40 PM

I have a 15min break. I've been shadowing embark and check-in assist at the terminal an at the gangway.

Then we have a drill, then we sail away from Barcelona (which I haven't seen) so we're gonna go socialize for a while. Then rehearsal for the tonight's show...

10:32 PM

It's super rocky tonight. It feels funny.

Like you could literally do line dancing except not on purpose, just because the boat is rocking back and forth.

Look, the drill yesterday when people got on board

(Like I said on Skype, my muster station is the theater)

My schedule is getting better. I might even be able to get off in Valencia tomorrow afternoon for an hour or 2.

I was proud of myself today... I was able to ask for a glass of water in Spanish while I was working at the terminal.

DAY 2
Venice, Italy
8:04pm

Hey! How are you?

A bit overwhelmed but OK. We have a show tomorrow and just did a run with costumes.
Gotta head to dinner before tonight’s show.

DAY 4
Corfu, Greece
11:27pm

Hey! Sorry, I had troubles connecting to the Internet after the show last night.
And I fell asleep before I was able to log on.

Still crazy busy and tired!

In addition to learning our shows, we have to learn our primary job onboard.
No, it's not dancing. It's safety. Those cruise companies take it very seriously that in the unlikely event of an emergency, all personnel know the right procedures to evacuate the boat and survive at sea.

Those trainings come at the worse time of the day though. In the middle of our afternoon rehearsal. So, after dancing full out for hours, we suddenly have to stop, sit behind a desk and listen to the broken English of the Bulgarian officer that's in charge of our safety trainings. I have a very hard time understanding what he says and sometimes wonder what language he really speaks. I never make it past 25 minutes without passing out. I feel terrible.

DAY 6
Capri, Italy
12:39pm

We just had a tour of the ship
Walked around for like 2 hours.
But got to see a few places I had never seen

Like what did you see? Where they keep the kids who shovel the coal into the engines? The mermaid tank? What?

Mostly the guest areas. So that we know what/who we're dealing with
But we also went up to the bridge
Which is the captain and officers' quarters.

I know that!
Dammit, I've watched Star trek half my life

Sorry, I never watched Star Trek! (You can unfriend me now! Lol)
The view is pretty darn cool from there though...

10:46 PM

Hey

Oh hey! I'm in bed already. Keep falling asleep whereas I’m trying to review from DVDs

11:45 PM

Apparently I have a safety test tomorrow    :-s
I was barely ever awake during those trainings. I hope it's mostly common sense.

When you board a 66,000 tons/782 feet ship, and you're about to travel and live with 800 other crew members and 1200 guests for 3 months, you are thankful for both satellites (as crappy as they may be depending where on the planet you are) and the holy world wide web that allow you to stay in touch with the people you know in a different life and world so that you can share your amazing experiences, your joys, rant every now and then, and just try to remember (and be remembered) that there is a whole other world out there that you once were a part of and will go back to soon.

Here are a few "messages in a bottle" to my business partner, courtesy of the famous book of face!

MS MARINA

DAY 1
8:45pm

So a little update on what's up on my side of the world.

I am SWAMPED with work. I boarded the ship today. We rehearsed from 9am to 8pm, with like an hour lunch break and a short safety training in the middle of the afternoon. Then I finally had a chance to get to my room and bring my stuff there.

Showered (at last!), started to unpack a bit (and by the way, tiny ugly bunk beds cabin with no window...)

Headed to dinner with my friend who also happens to be my boss, which is nice cause he knows his way around the ship and most of the rules. It will most likely be helpful!

Will write back later...

2:20 AM

We went to town!!!

Which I enjoyed cause it was like a breath of fresh air after a very long and stressful day. We just got back. The port is pretty far from downtown and this city is kinda built on water. No cars. Just boats pretty much, so it takes time to get from one place to another.

We almost finished learning the other half of the show Bon Voyage today. And tomorrow we rehearse that Latin bumper which we will perform tomorrow night as we will be sailing away from Venice.

So first performance!!!

We had a lot of work in Nashville but we also have twice as much now.

1) Everything we left out cause we couldn't figure out well from the video we now have to learn, and 2) it's different doing your own thing by yourself than having to match a whole cast obviously so... Just a lot of work. Which will be fine eventually, but I don't expect to have much time to myself for the next 10-15 days!

By the way, the Internet is by the minute.

The boat is big and luxurious. The crew areas are clean but ugly. Think hospital meets factory...

Like this is what leads to my room...

Anyway, I sound like I'm complaining but I'll be fine. I need to learn my way around here though cause it's huge and kind of a maze...

Like I promised, here is what it looks like when you're a French girl in Nashville!

Photos under construction...

Today I want to share with you some of the pictures my insanely talented friend Bobby Rivera shot in New York City the last time I visited. At the time, Motionated was still under construction, and Bobby was working very hard to build this platform so that we would have a place to showcase "cool projects we wanted to make with cool people".

That shoot is a perfect example. On a late summer day, we met in the Meatpacking district with gifted performer Jared Grimes. From tap and hip-hop/street jazz to singing and choreographing, this multi-talented artist has more than one arrow in his quiver.
Our goal that day was to capture the encounter of dance and fashion in a place where you would not usually find either one or the other.
Mission accomplished! We all had lots of fun.

In today's photos, Jared is wearing jackets by Versace and Theory and my dress is a Viktor & Rolf creation.

Note that this is only the first series of pictures and that we have more coming for you, so stay tuned and enjoy!

And if you need a photographer (or artistic director, or graphic designer) stop looking right now and get in touch with the genius that orchestrated this playdate at itisjustb@gmail.com. You certainly won't regret it.

Meet Teddy Forance (Part 5)

All good things come to an end. There is no word to describe how thrilled I have been to share my interviews with Teddy Forance all week. I hope you continue to follow his incredible career.
I'm so thankful that he took the time to sit with me and share some of his thoughts and experience and I can't wait to dance with him again.

Posted on February 28, 2014 .

Meet Teddy Forance (Part 4)

Hope you're all enjoying the interviews! We've heard Teddy talk travel, and health. Yesterday he discussed his various exciting projects, and we had the pleasure of seeing him perform. Today we get some inspirational words from a young artist who is as eager as I am to discover, experience, and share his passion for movement.

Meet Teddy Forance (Part 2)

We're back today with another clip from my sit down with Teddy Forance.

I practice Yamuna body rolling as a way to sustain my body through the rigors that come with being a full time performer.

It's something I really believe in, and try to happily spread. Teddy was happy to give it a try himself. After some Yamuna body rolling exercises, I asked Teddy what his views were on body sustainability, the importance of keeping your body in shape, and any secrets he might learned that relate to staying healthy.

Here's what he had to say on those subjects.

Have boat will travel

I already stated how important my friends were to me and that I counted some real gems amongst them. One of them is none other than Broadway choreographer David Marquez.
David is a long time dear friend, my mentor and one of the biggest influences and inspirations in my life. His generosity is as big as his talent. I think of all the artists I met since I fell into the dance world, he's the most special one and I know generations of dancers will agree with me because they have been touched and inspired by his teaching.

I made my Broadway debut at the Minskoff theater last year thanks to him, but it doesn't stop there. He has given me the opportunity to be a part of what will probably be one of the most extraordinary experiences of my career as a dancer. Last fall, I boarded the M/S Marina, the luxurious ship of the Oceania Cruises fleet. After assisting David while he was creating 6 new shows and rehearsing them in Nashville, I got to perform and travel for 3 months, my very two favorite things in the world. I was thrilled to dance work created by my very favorite choreographer and as an added bonus, some of my own choreography, as David gave me the chance to express my own creativity as well.

The destinations promised to be a blast. After a few weeks in the Mediterranean Sea visiting gems like Italy, Spain and Greece, we were going to sail to South America to explore Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Then eventually, in the new year, we would start sailing in the Pacific Ocean and cruise through the Islands of French Polynesia : Bora Bora, Papeete (Tahiti), Moorea, Fakarava, Raiatea, Nuku Hiva, Rangiroa...

Sounds pretty dreamy, doesn't it? Well, I have to say I still can't believe this just happened!

But for now let me show you how you roll when you're a French girl in Nashville!
