I'm back. Have you missed me? Don't take my absence as neglect. I've been literally traveling around the world to find new exciting things to share with you. If I'm going to keep you motionated, then I have to do it myself also. I'm happy to report it has been a successful mission, and there will be some amazing things to show you this year. So let's get the tempo going fast, and fun this week. When I introduced Motionated, I explained how it was, among other things, a window into my world. It's a showcase for all the people, places and things that motivate my motion. I also mentioned how I was lucky enough to have the chance to sit and speak with some dance icons. The first person I interviewed was Desmond Richardson, and now all this week I'm going to highlight another dance celebrity.
You've seen his image splashed across billboards and posters from the heights of rooftops to the depths of the subways. You've watched him from the comfort of home on his reality show All The Right Moves in which, along with his "Musketeers of Dance", he's given us a glimpse into the birth of a new dance company. Maybe you've spotted him dancing behind Janet, Gaga or Florence and the Machine to name a few. If you're really lucky, as I've been, you've been able to see him on tour across the States and you've enjoyed his particular brand of poetic storytelling in Shaping Sound.
Have you guessed who it is yet?
This week, my guest is none other than Teddy Forance. I had the honor of meeting him this past summer at World Dance Movement in Italy and I couldn't miss the occasion to interview him for Motionated.
After taking class with him I must say that I just cannot wait to be back in a studio with him again. His talent and passion were beyond inspiring and I honestly hadn't danced like that in a while.
When I first saw him, I knew we'd get along based on at least one thing. He's a "roller" like me! I never saw him enter the studio without his foam roller that week. I even had him try some Yamuna body rolling routines.
In today's post Teddy shares with us his experience at World Dance Movement, and how his dance career motivates him to move all around the world, something I can definitely identify with.
Stay tuned the rest of the week for more of my one on one with Teddy Forance.
I'm back. Let's dance!
Thank you to Hotel Semiramide for letting me film there.
